Can I make money at this?

Three answers: Yes, yes, and YES! First, you earn 50% of all pay-per-view and "private one-on-one" revenues generated from your videochat room. (It's makes perfect business sense: You deliver the content by hosting your own live videochat room, and we deliver the customers (8.1 million (Mar 2004 registered paying members) ! And when you deliver a new customer to the site through a special link that we provide you, your take is not 50%, but 100% of that customer's expenditures with you! Checks are cut to you every week, in minimum amounts of $100. (If you earn less than that in a given week, the amount is carried over into the following week). Second, you earn an additional $100 for each friend that you recruit to do the same. (To qualify, the friend must be an active  video chathost for at least six weeks). And third, you earn a 1% override on all net revenues generated by the person you refer or recruit to become video chathosts, *and* a 1% override on the friends that *they* recruit to become video chathosts, and so on, up to 16 different levels. (If you recruit two friends, and they recruit two friends, and so on, you'll get a 1% override on the revenues of 65,536 different!!) Yes! In addition to our Privacy Policy, which applies to all users of the platform, chathosts may also specify any number of "Chathost Block Zones" - zip codes, states or even entire countries that you want to prohibit accessing your chatroom, seeing you on the web cam, seeing your archive images, or joining your own optional members-only site.

Is the pope catholic? Since you're reading this FAQ online, you already know how to get connected to the internet. That leaves just two things:(1) Plugging an inexpensive webcam, such as one of the Logitech QuickCams -- some are less than $100 -- into your PC, and (2) Downloading our free webcam software to run on your Windows PC (Win95, Win98, WinME, WinNT, WinXP, and Win2000 are all supported). What types of conduct will get me in trouble with iFriends?

There are three major no-no's that will get you booted off & terminated in a jiffy:

1. Obscenity

2. Customer Theft
   If you make any attempt to contact a customer -- on or off the platform -- to urge that customer to visit you or other chathosts outside of the  platform, we will terminate your account immediately, no-questions-asked. (This includes "privates" arranged with  customers and visitors that take place outside of the system. ie: other methods of broadcasting your web cam, competing web sites) Internet Friends Webcam Network spends millions of dollars to advertise and attract customers to the service. When those customers are redirected to other services, all other chathosts suffer. For the protection of all  chathosts, if you redirect even a single  customer to other services -- even if unintentional -- we will close your account without hesitation and may prevent you from ever using the services or  platform again.
3. Customer Deception
   If you engage in practices which result in customers being overcharged (such as abandoning your post in front of the camera, while paying customers enter and then leave your chatroom), or customers being "tricked" to enter your videochat room (i.e., false or misleading advertising of your session description, or labeling a prerecorded tape as "live", etc.), we will close your account.

OK, so you've got the inexpensive webcam hardware, you've downloaded the free webcam software, you've created your video chathost account and now you're finally ready to transmit your live webcam feed. Great! Here's the regular routine:
• Get onto the internet, and go to the logon/sign in link we will provide you in email
• Fire up your free webcam software (you should see your cam image on your PC screen)
• enter your screen name and select "Sign in for a new video chat session"
• Fill out the sign-in form, hit the "Save" button, and (drumroll please  . . . )
• You're LIVE!!!!!
