Equipment Increase your High Speed Connection: Make sure your internet connection is not slow and that you have a high connection for uploads – at least 300 kbps upload speed, not just for downloads. If you want to change your connection to high speed, talk to your internet provider about purchasing options. Remember, high speed connections will bring you more profits! Also, if you are working with open applications, or you are chatting on more than one site simultaneously, it will lower your streaming rate and the quality of your chats.
Invest in a High Quality Webcam and Microphone: This will help improve your chat Room quality, but an even better idea would be to use a good quality camcorder that can also serve as a webcam. Images/videos produced from good webcam-enabled video cameras with large lenses are usually much better than those produced from regular (or even high-end) webcams.
When choosing your computer screen, keep in mind that our host chat room is configured to a resolution of 1024 pixels in width.
Occasionally, cameras have a physical ‘focus’ dial built around the lens. Make sure to focus correctly based on your distance from the camera, or use a camera with an auto focus feature.
Use audio in your Video Chat Room and give your hands a break from typing. Having a microphone in your chat Room leaves your hands free to do other things and it allows for more spontaneous interactions between you and your viewers. It’s worth investing in a good microphone instead of wasting money on a cheap one. Although not all Guests will have speakers to hear you, most will. In general, Guests will be happier having the option to hear you because it will enhance their overall experience with you.
